Since I’m doing the 100 day challenge I plan on doing yoga and pilates through Fit2beUSs on Tuesday’s, Thursdays and Saturday’s. I started yesterday and really enjoyed it once I got everything worked out. As mentioned in a previous blog I won 6 months free subscription to Fit2beUs. Monday night I looked at her programs aned struggled a bit on which one to choose. She has 3 seperate programs, Beginning, Advanced and Challenging. I figure fit wise I could probably do the Advanced series (mostly b/c I usually think I’m more bad ass than I actually am) but since I’ve never done Pilates before and I’m still new to the termonolgy of Yoga I decided to go with the Beginner. Every once in awhile good sense does win the battle in my head.
My plan yesterday was to do roughly an hour long session in the morning. Her videos run 10-20 minutes long so I thought I could bang several out and get a feel as to whether I should stay with Beginner or switch to Advance. Then life got in the way. Nola, my daughter was extremely fussy yesterday from when she woke up until when finally relented and took a nap. She normally goes down pretty easy but of course yesterday when I wanted to get the workout done and ribs started (they took 4 hours) she fought it like a champ.
So right before my husband got home I turned my computer on and tried Beg Chair Pilates I. By the way, you can try several videos of hers for free to see if this is something you might like. Chair Pilates I is one of the 3 free videos. Unfortunately my computer is so slow it kept freezing and I could never see a full movement. I guessed at alot based on my Hot Yoga classes and did my best. After completing the class I decided to try it on my husbands fast laptop. Why you might ask didn’t I think to do that first? Who knows. The video came through perfectly and I was pleased to see that I had guessed right with alot of the movements. I did need to tweek a few but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it. She has several videos I really want to try like Yoga for runners and bed time meditation. I def need to do her Better Backs series because after finishing her Chair Pilates I for the second time the middle of my back felt strained. I don’t know about you guys but I struggle with my posture. I need someone behind me yelling at me all the time to stand up straight.
I might even throw in a couple of extra videos on my gym days because it is so relaxing and good for this girl who is extremely unlimber. I’ll keep you posted on my journey through this work out. I am really interested to see how all this yoga benefits (if it does) my other workout routines, like running and lifting weights. Oh and for now, I’m going to stick to the Beginners program.
