First the good: I rode my bike this weekend. It was just around the neighborhood with my kiddos but it was alot of fun. Before we moved from Texas middle of last year we went mountain biking all the time. I loved it and it really helped get me into shape. I haven’t been able to do it as much here lately with the move to NC and the terrible weather we’ve had this winter. Since this weekend was so nice we grabbed our bikes and got out there.
I decided last night that I’m going to do a mountain biking blogging series on here. I’ll go from the very basic of helping you pick out a bike to more techie info like how to do trails. I hope to start it this week since the weather is, I hope, going to start getting better.
I also went to the gym this morning. I did my circuit training but I stepped it up a notch. Instead of just stepping up on the steps portion I would do things like knee raises or kicks. I even did a couple of squats. It felt good to move. On the treadmill I bumped the speed up to 6.0. Whooo hooo! I have to say I really enjoyed this morning’s workout.
Here’s The Bad: What do you do when you’re at the gym and the person on the machine before you doesn’t wipe it down? Standard gym etiquet is to wipe a machine down once you’re finished with it. No one wants to sit in your sweat. It’s just gross. Well, last week I was doing my circuit training and I noticed the girl in front of me wasn’t wiping down once she finished. I was a little surprised and didn’t know quite how to handle it. Do you call the person out and say, hey wipe this machine down, ignore it and sit in her sweat? What I decided to do was when I finished a machine and was about to head to the one she left I cleaned them both. It only took me doing this twice before she got the hint and started cleaning it herself. Hopefully lesson learned.
The Ugly – well, let’s just say I try not to look into the mirror when I’m done working out. Yikes!! Happy Monday and get out there and move with me!.
