How to Travel and Keep Your Workouts Going

This has been a really unusual week for me because I’ve been traveling to help out my family.  Last week I posted that I had finally lost some weight so I was stressed out at the idea of travelling. When I’m in my own house doing my own normal schedule I can control what I eat and when.  I’m sure that you know when you’re around other people outside of your home it can be hard to stick to your healthy eating. So here is what I did. I packed everything! :) You should have seen my husband’s face.

I packed:

I had cut up a bunch of pineapple the previous day so I put it into storage containers and took it with me.  I tried to guarantee that atleast my breakfast and snacks throughout the day would be nice and healthy. I cut up an apple and put it in a baggie so that I would have it to eat in the car.  In the past whenever I travel when I got tired I would whip out some candy and munch on that to stay awake and alert. I finally grew-up a bit and replaced the candy with slices of apple.  Not as much fun but alot more rewarding.

I had just started a Brazil Butt Lift workout challenge group on facebook (like literally the day before) and I was worried that I would fail on day two.  So I took my workout DVD set.  I also took my Chalene Extreme because I’m doing a 90 day program and have really been going strong.  This was my last week of phase 2 so I really didn’t want to get behind.  I also took my laptop because I could watch my workout DVDs on there and so even if there wasn’t a TV available I could still get my workouts done. I’m stoked to say I got all my workouts in and stayed on track! Whew!  It was such a great feeling knowing that no matter where I go or what my schedule might throw at me I can still stay true to my fitness goals.

I finally went running for the first time in about 2 weeks and it felt great. However I was so slow I think I saw an inch worm going faster than me.  It was super to get out there. I love getting out there in the early morning.  There was long lying fog hanging over a field and it was beautiful.  I love waking up with the world.  My mud run is only a month away so I need to keep my running up.
