As you know, I started my fitness plan over in January because I foolishly took Nov-Dec off. I won’t make that mistake again because it really was like starting all over again. In the past running has whipped me into shape but not this year. I don’t know if it’s b/c I just turned 36 and Mother Nature wants to give me added challenges or what but it just wasn’t enough. Instead of going down I was watching the scale creep up. It was really discouraging and I knew I had to make a change.
So in March I decided to take my game up a level and ordered Chalene Extreme. It’s a 90 program that is mostly strength training. Her motto is that muscle burns fat so lift heavy or go home. I have about 2 weeks left of the program and I feel amazing. I’ve lost 5lbs and only have 8.5lbs to go. I can’t believe how high my energy level is or how well I’ve been sleeping. I generally get up at 5:45 am and run and then do CE. I measured myself before I started and at the 30 day mark and I had lost several inches from around my waist!
I met a great coach named Missy and she talked me into doing the Brazil Butt Lift Challenge with her. I can’t believe how much that workout series can torture your butt, thighs and abs in a good way! I’m going to the beach this summer and want that area to look as good as I can get it. My thighs are more toned although admittedly I still have a ways to go. Getting healthy is a journey and I’m loving the road I’m on right now.
My Marine Corp Mud run is roughly 2 weeks away and I’m getting really pumped and ready for it. I’m nervous b/c I’m running as part of a team and there is always that little voice in the back of my head that worries about being the weak link. However, I know I’m doing everything I can possibly do so my best will have to be good enough. Who knows maybe I’ll Chalene Extreme it, as I like to say, and everyone will have to work to keep up with me.
Other than working my own butt off I’ve discovered another true passion of mine. Helping others do the same. I’m now a Beachbody coach myself and I am really enjoying helping both my on and offline friends get healthier. I’ve started a workout accountability facebook group and we are really rocking. I just started them on a water challenge for this week and so far so good. They don’t know it yet but I plan on doing small challenges like this twice a month to help them reach their goals and to stay motivated. Shhhh. If you would like help reaching your goals and want to join the group all you need to do is sign up for a free BB account under me and then request to join by messaging me on facebook or leaving a comment. I love my BB account b/c that’s where I log my workouts in. It’s so handy! I have also found alot of fun and yummy recipes there.
I can’t tell you enough how good I feel since I’ve been working out and really want to share this experience with you. I know we can all rock this!
