I have always wanted to do wall decals in my kids rooms so I was super excited when Accent Studios contacted me to do a review for them. My only hurdle was my husband. While I have always thought they were super neat my husband has always said why do I want to put stickers on my wall? Well I can tell you by the end of this project my husband has a shopping list of other decals he wants me to get. I received a big monster truck for my son and my daughter’s name Nola. Both turned out wonderful.
This weekend was the perfect time to accent their walls because we moved my daughter from her crib to my son’s old bedroom set and upgraded my son from a twin bed to a bed with a trundle and we hung curtains and a matching comforter set for both of them. It was very exciting around our house and both kids couldn’t be more thrilled with their “new rooms”.
We first started with our daughter’s room. We placed the decals under her mattress for a couple of hours so they would flatten out. Accent Studios also sends a small AS decal. I originally thought wow, that’s some self-promoting but after looking at the directions and watching the videos my husband put it up in my daughters closet. He said he was really glad they sent it because it allows you to do a test run so that if you screw up on a decal it’s not the one you care about. Smart, right?
Now I mentioned we watched a video on how to put up the decals. A really neat feature that Accent Studios does is send one of those scanning buttons on their shipping sheets. My husband used his phone to scan the bar code and then up popped a how-to series of videos that we were able to watch right then and there. Of course they also have the videos on their site if you don’t have a smart phone.
It’s really easy to put them up once you watch the videos or do the test decal. Here is a picture of my husband putting Nola’s name up on her wall. You simply stick this size decal where you want it. We made sure to use a level to make sure it was straight and then use the tool they send to work out any bubbles and to make sure every bit of the decal is flat on the wall.
Next you carefully peel back the top paper leaving your decal on the wall.
Easy peasy.
We repeated the steps in my son’s room for his monster truck decal.
So here are the finished products for both kids rooms. Both kids are super excited and we couldn’t be happier with the product. Accent Studios doesn’t just stop at awesome kid decals but have ones that will go in every room of your house.
