So I’ve been trying to think of something fun for the kids too do that would make a great summer craft for them and would be actually useful for me. I’ve been wanting to make something for the kids/guest bathroom that would let our summer guests know that we are so glad that they are visiting us and to point out where everything is that they might need. I mean how annoying is it when you go to someone’s house and you use the last of something and don’t know where to find more. You don’t want to seem like you’re snooping so I came up with this cute white board idea. One reason I like a white board is you can personalize your message to whoever is coming to visit to make them feel special and really welcome.
Since the guest bathroom is also the kids bathroom we decorated it in a sea theme. Since I have a boy and a girl I wanted something gender neutral. I was in Target today and saw this cute white board so I snagged it and headed to the scrapbooking section. Luckily they had several sea themed stickers and letters so I grabbed those too and headed home with the kiddos.

First lay everything out you have and then if you are adding letters draw a line using the white board marker so you can get rid of it when you are done.
Next I wrote a few lines of welcoming before the kids starting decorating mostly to make sure I had space left for a message! Then I let the kids put the stickers on there in a way they thought was fun.
Finally we put the white board in the bathroom for the guests. The other thing I like to do to make guests feel special is too put out Kleenex Hand Towels. They make things so much nicer and more luxurious. I mean now the guests don’t have to share with the kids! Everyone has their own special hand towel. I love the colors the Kleenex boxes come in. They are pretty neutral and really blend in well.
So that’s how we are going to make Mimi, Grandma and Grampa feel special when they come to visit us.
